Fire Burning In Holy Jim Canyon

A forest fire began in Holy Jim Canyon in the Cleveland National Forest around 11:20 this morning, and has burned approximately 500 acres.

According to the Cleveland National Forest Twitter post at 1:59 p.m., the blaze was 0% contained:

The Orange County Fire Authority stated the fire is not a threat to residential areas. Smoke from the fire has already considerably dissipated as of this writing, and winds are moderate.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Holy Jim Canyon was the scene of a devastating forest fire in August 2018, burning 23,126 acres and consuming 18 buildings. The fire began on August 6 and was not fully contained until September 13.
