The wildfire that began yesterday in Holy Jim Canyon is 15% contained and holding steady at 553 acres as crews construct firebreaks around the perimeter of the blaze, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire started yesterday at 11:20 a.m., and by 2:00 p.m. had consumed 400 acres.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Holy Jim Canyon was the scene of a devastating forest fire in August 2018, burning 23,126 acres and consuming 18 buildings. The fire began on August 6 and was not fully contained until September 13.
