The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has identified 68-year-old David Chou, from Las Vegas, as the alleged shooter who killed one person and wounded five others in a shooting attack yesterday on a Taiwanese Presbyterian congregation in Laguna Woods.
When officers arrived at the scene, members of the congregation had already detained the shooter by tackling him and tying his legs with extension cords.
Deputies also recovered two firearms at the scene. He has been booked on one count of felony murder and five counts of felony attempted murder.
It is unknown what, if any, connection he has with the congregation where he went on a shooting spree.
According to the OCSD, five surviving victims are:
- A 66-year old Asian male
- A 92-year old Asian male
- An 82-year old Asian male
- A 75-year old Asian male
- An 86-year old Asian female
All are in advanced critical care at local hospitals.
