The Irvine Ranch Conservancy is organizing a leisurely family hike in Round Canyon this Saturday, September 10. Enjoy nature with friends and family in Round Canyon.

The hike is 2-3 miles along a fairly flat trail. It’s an easy pace for the family to see red-tailed hawks and mule deer.

The hike is from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and starts at the Portola – Round staging area in Irvine, in the Limestone Canyon Nature Preserve. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes, and bring water for the hike.

On the 1-through-5 Difficulty Ratings this hike is a 2, and good for those looking for a slower-paced, level hike.

The FAQ page has answers to questions that may occur before registering – and pre-registration is required. No walk-ups allowed.

Who is OC Independent?

The OC Independent is dedicated to providing factual, informative reporting on Orange County government, politics, education and quality of life issues such as homelessness and access to housing. We seek to illuminate aspects of issues, movements and trends that receive little or no attention from more established, mainstream outlets. Our editorial philosophy is grounded in the principles of the American Founding: limited government, federalism, the separation of powers and equality before the law as indispensable to securing our liberties. The opinions and stances articulated in OC Independent editorials flow from those principles, and are grounded in facts.
