The Pacific Airshow kicks off this morning in Huntington Beach, and the aerial spectacular will run through October 1. It is the largest airshow in the Unites States in terms of the number of attendees.

Headlining the weekend-long event will be the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, along with F-15 Eagle combat pilot Tom “Lark” Larkin and the 122d Fighter Squadron F-15s from the Louisiana Air National Guard.

The show is in its seventh year and attracts an estimated 3 million visitors.

The gates open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the Pier Plaza Festival area is open until 8:00 p.m.

The show begins each at 10:30 a.m., and the various aerial acrobatics and precision flying demonstrations run until 4:30 p.m.

There are also static displays of modern and vintage aircraft.

“Every year we try to outdo ourselves, and we’re confident that 2023 will be our most incredible, action-packed lineup of all time,” said Kevin Elliott, Pacific Airshow’s Executive Director. “Millions of people look forward to the annual Pacific Airshow and we aim to make it an unforgettably epic experience for all.”

Former President Trump’s campaign jet is expected to do a fly over today; he is scheduled to speak at the California Republican Party Convention in Anaheim.

General admission tickets are a discounted $30 when purchased online, but can also be purchased at the gate. Graduated levels of premium seating – ranging from seating on the Huntington Beach Pier to private cabanas – can also be purchased.

About 20,000 tickets are available for each day of the show.

Who is OC Independent?

The OC Independent is dedicated to providing factual, informative reporting on Orange County government, politics, education and quality of life issues such as homelessness and access to housing. We seek to illuminate aspects of issues, movements and trends that receive little or no attention from more established, mainstream outlets. Our editorial philosophy is grounded in the principles of the American Founding: limited government, federalism, the separation of powers and equality before the law as indispensable to securing our liberties. The opinions and stances articulated in OC Independent editorials flow from those principles, and are grounded in facts.
