Strong Water, a popular tiki bar and restaurant in downtown Anaheim, has earned national recognition for its slow of creative cocktails. The James Beard Foundation, which recognizes “exceptional talent and achievement in the culinary arts, hospitality, media, and broader food system,” announced finalists today in broad categories of excellence.

Strong Water is one of five establishments nominated in the “Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program” category.

In addition to its tiki cocktails, the award-winning restaurant is famous for the intense detail and craftsmanship of its interior decor and design.

“It’s been a whirlwind,” Strong Water co-founder Ying Chan told the OC Register in February after qualifying as a semifinalist.

Also nominated in the same category are Lula Drake Wine Parlour in Columbia, SC; The Morris in San Francisco; the Tail Up Goat in Washington, D.C.; and the Waxlight Bar à Vin in Buffalo, NY.
