Enjoy some early morning paleontology this Saturday, October 19 on a guided tour of the Clark Regional Park hillside fossil bed, followed by a trip to the Interpretive Center. The tour is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Closed toed shoes are required due to uneven terrain. Sun protection and water are recommended.

The tour will meet next to Lot A for a brief introduction. We will then walk north across Rosecrans Ave. to visit the fossil bed. After the hillside exploration we will return to the south side of Rosecrans and visit the Interpretive Center.

Registration is required for all participants. Minors aged 17 and younger must have legal guardian present at all times.

The event is free, but parking is $5 per vehicle. Rain or heat advisory will cancel the event.

Who is OC Independent?

The OC Independent is dedicated to providing factual, informative reporting on Orange County government, politics, education and quality of life issues such as homelessness and access to housing. We seek to illuminate aspects of issues, movements and trends that receive little or no attention from more established, mainstream outlets. Our editorial philosophy is grounded in the principles of the American Founding: limited government, federalism, the separation of powers and equality before the law as indispensable to securing our liberties. The opinions and stances articulated in OC Independent editorials flow from those principles, and are grounded in facts.
