Fullerton to Host Family-Friendly First Night 2025 Celebration in Historic Downtown

The City of Fullerton is set to welcome the New Year with the return of its beloved First Night celebration, a cherished tradition for families and friends across the community. The free, family-friendly event will take place on December 31, 2024, from 7:00 PM to midnight in the heart of historic Downtown Fullerton.

This year’s First Night promises an evening filled with live entertainment, exciting attractions, delicious food, and community fun for attendees of all ages.

Highlights of the Event

  • Ferris Wheel: Take in breathtaking views of Downtown Fullerton from this new attraction.
  • Snow Lane: Enjoy a magical winter wonderland experience in sunny Southern California.
  • Live Performances: Musical acts include The Dreamboats (50s & 60s rock and swing), Tania y su Nueva Era (Latin), Electric Vinyl (80s rock), Soundbyte (R&B, disco, Latin, and swing), and Lady Ivy (disco and dance).
  • Food Trucks and Vendors: A variety of food options and unique local goods will be available.

A signature feature of the event is the closure of Harbor Boulevard, transforming the downtown area into a pedestrian-friendly space. Visitors can freely stroll through the charming historic storefronts, bars, and restaurants, adding to the festive atmosphere.

“First Night is one of Fullerton’s most cherished traditions, bringing together families, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the New Year in the heart of our historic downtown,” said Mayor Nicholas Dunlap. “With new attractions like the Ferris wheel and Snow Lane, this year promises to be more magical than ever. We can’t wait to ring in 2025 with our incredible community.”

Pre-Sale Ride Tickets

To enhance the experience, discounted pre-sale ride tickets are available for purchase at the Fullerton Community Center during regular operating hours. Pre-sale bundles offer attendees the chance to skip lines and enjoy carnival rides and games at a reduced cost.

  • Operating Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM; Saturday, 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
  • Note: Tickets sold on December 31 will be priced at $1 each, and cash will not be accepted at the event.

Fireworks and Final Countdown

The night will conclude with a dazzling midnight fireworks display, marking the start of 2025 in spectacular fashion.
