Tim Shaw, Vice President of the Orange County Board of Education, announced his campaign Thursday for Orange County Supervisor in District 4.
Shaw, a former La Habra mayor and city councilmember, also previously served as Chairman of the Orange County Transportation Authority. His campaign emphasizes priorities such as public safety, infrastructure improvements, education, fiscal responsibility, and community-focused governance.
“Our community deserves a leader who brings proven results—from school oversight to public safety and transportation improvements,” Shaw said in a statement. “It’s time to take that experience to the County Board of Supervisors.”
A well-known figure in North Orange County, Shaw has been elected to the County Board of Education three times—in 2020, 2022, and 2024—with growing margins of support. He enters the race with endorsements from several regional leaders, including State Senators Steven Choi and Tony Strickland, Assemblymember Phillip Chen, former Placentia Mayor Rhonda Shader, and Brea Councilman Steven Vargas.
Shaw’s platform includes expanding law enforcement partnerships, investing in emergency services, defending parent rights and school choice, and supporting local control in education. He also pledges to promote transparent budgeting practices and support solutions addressing affordable housing and homelessness.
“I believe in servant leadership—centered on people, not politics,” Shaw said. “With your support, I will ensure Orange County remains a safe, prosperous, and family-centered place to live.”
Shaw lives in La Habra with his wife, Shannon, and their six sons. More information about his campaign is available at www.Shaw4OC.com.
Also running for the seat are three Democrats: Buena Park Councilman Connor Traut, Fullerton Councilman Fred Jung, and La Habra Councilman Rose Espinoza.
