That sound you don’t hear is the Orange County’s progressive-Left elected officials, activists and advocacy groups denouncing the Islamist regime in Iran’s violence toward its own citizens. The mullahs in Tehran have unleashed regime security forces against Iranian demonstrators. Thousands have been gunned down. Morgues across Iran are overflowing with the bodies of dead protesters.

Progressives elected officials like Supervisor Vince Sarmiento and Santa Ana Councilmembers Ben Vazquez, Johnathan Hernandez and Jessie Lopez expended tremendous time and energy and outrage denouncing the carnage resulting from the Israel-Hamas war, falsely accusing the Israeli government of “genocide” against the Palestinians in Gaza.

When the Islamist government forces machine gun its own citizens in the streets of cities across Iran, not a peep out of any of them.

Vazquez, Hernandez and Lopez sent months agendizing resolutions accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, coordinating with various radical groups to pack the chambers with keffiyeh-adorned activists.

Indeed, Vazquez couldn’t stop himself from bragging about his “solidarity” with Palestinians in the face of “genocide.”

Vazquez condemned the capture of Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolas Maduras – lawfully indicted in US courts. The socialist councilman weirdly expressed his opposition to this “attack on Venezuela” by declaring his “solidarity with the people of Venezuela” – who overwhelmingly opposed maduro and his brutal socialist regime.

Vazquez wrote “we pray for a free and peaceful Venezuela” but cannot be bothered to even pray for a free and peaceful Iran as the Islamist regime in Tehran wages war against its own people.

Sarmiento called for cutting off military aid to Israel, accusing the Jewish State of ethnic cleansing, genocide and “the indiscriminate killing of civilians by Israel’s military”:

Apparently, the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians by Iranian security forces doesn’t bother Sarmiento’s oh-so-very public conscience.

The radical group 50501 Movement OC publishes a weekly calendar of protests that local leftists can participate in. Good luck finding any “Justice for Iranian martyrs” protests.

VietRise leader Tracy La has had a lot so say about Palestinian deaths in Gaza – even traveling to Detroit to participate in a conference of pro-Hamas, anti-Israel Palestinian radicals – from whom La thinks “we have so much to learn.”

But when it comes to the deliberate killing of thousands of Iranian protesters by their oppressive Islamist regime, La and VietRise are noticeably mute.

Johnathan Hernandez? Not a peep.

Jessie Lopez? Like her boss, Vince Sarmiento – just crickets.

What’s that phrase progressives like tossing around on social media? Oh yeah: “Silence is complicity.”

Is it because Iran is an Islamic Republic and Israel is a Jewish State?

Hard to know given the silence of the leftist lambs.
