The Pacific Symphony will present a free outdoor summer concert featuring popular music, patriotic favorites, and family activities on the grassy lawn Bette and Wylie Aitken Arts Plaza, in front of Chapman University’s Musco Performing Arts Center.
The 60- to 75-minute performance will be led by Assistant Conductor Jacob Sustaita and will include a mix of classical selections, pop songs, and patriotic music. Audience members will also be invited to participate in a sing-along of familiar patriotic tunes.
Before the 7 p.m. concert, families can take part in the Musical Playground, an interactive pre-concert event offering hands-on activities for children, including instrument-making and a drum circle.
A returning favorite gives young audience members the opportunity to learn basic conducting techniques from Sustaita before helping lead the orchestra during one of the evening’s selections.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic dinners, blankets, or lawn chairs for the outdoor performance.
Chapman University alumni are also invited to attend a special pre-concert reception beginning at 5:30 p.m., featuring refreshments, music, giveaways, and an opportunity to connect with fellow alumni.
The concert is free and designed to provide a family-friendly evening of live music in an outdoor setting.
