“Show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are,” goes the saying.
On July 18, Orange Unified School District Board of Education member Kris Erickson participated in an Abolish ICE demonstration organized by IndivisibleOrange and “like-minded organizations.” That’s her in the middle.
IndivisibleOrange is part of the radical “Indivisible” network, founded in 2016 as a sort of left-wing Tea Party.
According to InfluenceWatch.com, “Indivisible’s most prominent allies include the Democratic Socialists of America, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), MoveOn.org, Planned Parenthood, the Working Families Party, and the Tides Foundation.”
“The Tides Foundation is a funding partner for the Indivisible Fund (now Indivisible Civics), the 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of the organization. Founded in 1976, the Tides Foundation is a pass-through organization and a pillar of the Left,” according to InfluenceWatch.com.
“During a June 2025 meeting of “moderate” Democrats in Washington D.C called “WelcomeFest,” Indivisible was one of several advocacy groups named by attendees as having damaged the Democratic Party’s positioning, with speaker Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) stating that Indivisible was pushing members of the party to take policy positions unpopular with voters,” reports InfluenceWatch.
Does her participation mean Erickson subscribes to the same radical political tenets as Indivisible? Does it mean she supports abolishing ICE and the non-enforcement of immigration laws? Does she believe that her fellow Americans who take the opposite view are “fascists”? Indivisible does.
Does Erickson join IndivisibleOrange in support of allowing minor students to simply walk off campus during school hours and protest for left-wing causes – as these OUSD students did earlier this year?:
This video was posted by Pueblo Unido, a local left-wing student group. it was one of the “like-minded organizations sponsoring the Abolish ICE protest Erickson joined.
It’s leader, “Alexis” has been caught on video hurling obscenities at patron’s of historic Moreno’s Restaurant in Orange.
“Fuck you, bitch! Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you up the ass, bitch! You gonna die!” Alexis shouted through a bullhorn at some older white women as they left Moreno’s.
Are these the types with whom Kris Erickson wants to ally herself? The radicals at Pueblo Unido have allied themselves with Erickson:
Why would a group with politics as radical as Pueblo Unido‘s support Erickson’s re-election?

The DSA was another of the “like-minded organizations” helping lead this Abolish ICE protest. The DSA supports a government takeover of the economy in order to bring about “the end of capitalism.” DSA members want government ownership and control of the production and provision of food, education, energy, medicine and transportation: no more “worrying about cost,” no more “dreading going back to work” as “we labor for our common good instead of private profit” promises the DSA.
Does Erickson support those goals? Because she is making common cause with these revolutionaries.
Some may consider this unfair criticism. Or see it as “guilt by association.” Fair enough. But progressives have been practicing this tactic for decades.
Erickson didn’t just fall of the turnip truck. She has been a partisan Democrat activist for years. She knows who these individuals and organizations are and what their political and policy objectives are. And she chooses to stand with them anyway.
That is a legitimate issue for voter consideration.
