Visit Anaheim, the official destination marketing organization (DMO) for Anaheim, has confirmed a total of 148 conventions, meetings, and events scheduled for 2024, with an anticipated economic impact exceeding $1.5 billion for the local community.
These upcoming gatherings are set to attract more than 947,000 attendees to Anaheim, contributing to 610,000 room nights in local hotels. Among the prominent events, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), one of Visit Anaheim’s major clients, drew an 75,000 attendees and booked nearly 25,000 room nights. This marks a significant increase from the previous year and is projected to bring an estimated $120 million in economic impact to Anaheim, driven by attendee expenditures on dining, shopping, and entertainment in the city.
The breakdown includes 50 conventions at the Anaheim Convention Center, 77 meetings, and 21 events, collectively expected to generate approximately $15 million in tourism occupancy tax (TOT) revenue for the city.
“We’re thrilled that NAMM has called Anaheim home for nearly 50 years,” expressed Ronnie Collins, Senior Vice President, Sales & Services, Visit Anaheim. “With their return to regular programming in January for the first time since 2020, we anticipate a high-impact event, building on the rich history and vibrant musical community they’ve nurtured here in Anaheim.”
The Anaheim Convention Center, hosting an average of one million attendees annually, plays a crucial role in driving year-round tourism and serves as a vital city asset. Other noteworthy conventions returning to the center in 2024 include Natural Products Expo West, WonderCon, VidCon, D23, and more.
